The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has impacted not only people’s daily lives but also the mental health of many people from all walks of life. Deepika Padukone, who has always advocated for the significance of mental health, has now unveiled a new effort to support frontline workers in overcoming mental health concerns during these trying times.
‘Frontline workers have been the backbone of our country as we withstand this outbreak,’ Deepika tweeted on her social media account. I appreciate the value of emotional wellbeing as someone who has lived with mental illness, and as a mental health foundation, we are happy to be able to contribute to the mental health of our country’s frontline workers through ‘Frontline Assist.’
Deepika, who experienced serious depression a few years ago, isn’t afraid to talk about her experience and how she overcomes it. She further stated that the revenues from the ‘Deepika Padukone Closet,’ which she launched in 2019, will be donated to NGO Sangath’s specialized Covid-19 well-being center through this ‘Frontline Assist’ project.
