Adani Defence & Aerospace CEO: Defence Sector Expansion to Generate 4,000 Jobs, Amplify Impact on MSMEs and Local Ecosystem.

On February 26, Adani Defence & Aerospace unveiled South Asia’s largest Ammunition & Missiles Complex. Spanning across 500 acres, this complex is poised to manufacture a comprehensive range of ammunition. With an investment plan exceeding Rs 3000 crore, this initiative is expected to generate over 4,000 employment opportunities.

During the launch of two major facilities for ammunition and missile manufacturing in Kanpur, Ashish Rajvanshi, CEO of Adani Defence and Aerospace, emphasized the significant rise in global defence spending. Rajvanshi pointed out that countries like Germany, Poland, and France allocate a considerable portion of their GDP towards defence, citing percentages of 3%, 2%, and 4% respectively. This trend underscores a shared imperative among nations to enhance security measures in response to ongoing geopolitical tensions.

Rajvanshi highlights the significant opportunity this presents for India’s defence sector, which is poised for growth in response to evolving geopolitical dynamics.

Covering an extensive area of 500 acres, the Kanpur facility marks a significant milestone as one of South Asia’s largest integrated ammunition manufacturing complexes. Designed to cater to the needs of the armed forces, paramilitary forces, and police, the facility will produce high-quality small, medium, and large-calibre ammunition. Initial production has commenced with small calibre ammunition, aiming to fulfill an estimated 25% of India’s annual requirement, starting with 150 million rounds.

Ashish Rajvanshi emphasized that the establishment of the ammunition and missiles complexes signifies a significant stride towards India’s self-reliance goals. With a planned investment exceeding Rs 3,000 crore, these initiatives are poised to transcend the confines of the defence sector, impacting various facets of the nation’s economy and industrial landscape.

Ashish Rajvanshi reiterated the significant impact of Adani Defence & Aerospace initiatives, emphasizing the creation of over 4,000 jobs and the substantial multiplier effect on Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and the broader local ecosystem. Rajvanshi underscored the commitment to inclusive and sustainable development, aiming to foster growth while safeguarding the environment for future generations.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath praised Adani Defence & Aerospace for making the largest investment in the Uttar Pradesh Defence Corridor. He highlighted the significance of this investment in fostering a vibrant defence ecosystem and expressed satisfaction at the commencement of operations within a short timeframe of 18 months from land allocation. Adityanath emphasized the pride associated with the production of ammunition and missiles from these facilities, foreseeing their crucial role in enhancing national security.
