Sona Mohapatra expressed discontent over Rahul Gandhi referencing Aishwarya Rai in a recent political speech, deeming it inappropriate. Additionally, she defended Aishwarya against a troll’s criticism, emphasizing the need to refrain from unjustly targeting individuals.

Sona Mohapatra responded to Rahul Gandhi’s mention of Aishwarya Rai in a political speech targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding the Ram Temple consecration ceremony. Mohapatra took to social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) to express support for Aishwarya Rai in a series of tweets.

Sona Mohapatra, known for her candid views on various social and political issues, including women’s rights and sexism, took to Twitter on Wednesday to criticize politicians for demeaning women in their speeches to score political points. She specifically addressed Rahul Gandhi, expressing disappointment over his mention of Aishwarya Rai in a recent speech. Mohapatra emphasized the need for politicians to refrain from such behavior, highlighting the importance of respecting women regardless of their political affiliations. Additionally, she praised Aishwarya Rai’s talent, particularly her dancing skills, amidst the controversy.

In response to a user’s derogatory comment about Aishwarya Rai’s dancing, Sona Mohapatra corrected the misconception, explaining that dancing like a courtesan is, in fact, a compliment. She emphasized the rich cultural heritage and artistic prowess associated with courtesans in Indian history, highlighting their mastery of languages, poetry, and various performing arts forms. Mohapatra’s response aimed to educate the user about the historical significance and respect accorded to courtesans for their contributions to the arts.

In his recent speech, Rahul Gandhi made remarks about the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha event, expressing dissatisfaction over the absence of OBC or ST/SC representation. He specifically mentioned celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai attending the event, implying their presence didn’t reflect the true demographics of the country. Additionally, he made comments about Aishwarya Rai dancing and Amitabh Bachchan doing ‘balle balle’ at events, which drew criticism from some social media users for bringing in Aishwarya Rai’s name into his political discourse.
