This issue has emerged for the first time post his surgery, so he has been advised to rest for a few weeks. He will subsequently head to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) for further evaluation.
If Shreyas Iyer does miss out on the last three Tests against England due to his injury, the selection committee will need to decide on his replacement. KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja, who missed the last Test due to injury, are likely to return for the Rajkot Test. In this situation, it remains to be seen if Rajat Patidar, who debuted in Vizag, will get another opportunity.
