During Apple’s latest quarterly results announcement, CEO Tim Cook highlighted the company’s impressive performance in India. Cook mentioned that the business in India experienced growth in revenue, reaching a record quarter revenue. This indicates a significant and positive financial outcome for Apple in the Indian market.

Apple’s business in India, including iPhone sales, is thriving, marking a substantial success for the company. A research report has underscored Apple’s achievement of surpassing Samsung in revenue in the year 2023. CEO Tim Cook went on record stating that Apple’s recent quarter in India was its best ever, indicating remarkable performance and growth in the Indian market.

In its latest quarterly results, Apple reported a record-breaking quarter in India, primarily driven by a surge in iPhone sales. Apple CEO Tim Cook mentioned in the earnings call that the business in India experienced substantial growth in revenue, achieving a new record for quarterly revenue.

Tim Cook’s remarks follow a recent Counterpoint research note, revealing that Apple has overtaken Samsung as the leading mobile phone company in India in terms of revenue. This further underscores Apple’s notable success and growing influence in the Indian mobile phone market.

In his prepared remarks following Apple’s quarterly results, CEO Tim Cook highlighted strong double-digit growth in numerous emerging markets. He specifically noted all-time records in countries such as Malaysia, Mexico, the Philippines, Poland, and Turkey. Additionally, Cook pointed out December quarter records in key markets including India, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, and Chile.

In its latest financial report, Apple demonstrated continued success with impressive numbers. The company achieved a quarterly revenue of $119.6 billion, marking a 2% year-over-year increase in its first financial quarter. The growth was primarily driven by strong performances in iPhone, Mac, and Services.

However, wearables, home, and iPad experienced a decline. Anticipation is building for potential market resurgence with the expected launch of new iPads in the upcoming weeks, which could positively impact this segment.

Recent market notes from research agencies underscore Apple’s robust performance in India. According to Counterpoint, Apple has secured the top position as the No. 1 mobile phone company in India in terms of revenue. The brand surpassed 10 million units in shipments, achieving the leading position in revenue for the first time in a calendar year.

This success is attributed to strong demand for both the latest and older iPhone models, coupled with strategic moves such as the opening of Apple’s own retail stores and an increased focus on large-format retail, as highlighted by research analyst Shubham Singh in the Counterpoint note.
