Karan Johar has announced his next directorial project, and he made the announcement today. “This is the beginning of a new trip & my way back home – all at once,” the filmmaker stated in announcing his choice to return to directing. It’s time to return to my favorite spot, to produce some timeless love stories from behind the camera.” “A very special story, truly entrenched in the foundations of love and family,” KJo teased about his next film.

After a five-year hiatus, Karan Johar will return to the director’s chair. His last film was ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil,’ which was released in 2016. With Anushka Sharma, Ranbir Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and Fawad Khan in the key roles, he had pulled off a casting coup.

It’s still unclear what Karan Johar’s next film will be about. Karan Johar said in February 2020 that he will direct the historical drama ‘Takht,’ starring Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar, Janhvi Kapoor, and Anil Kapoor. However, there has been no further word on KJo’s ambitious film.

Karan Johar has directed segments for two web anthologies in the last year: “Lust Stories” and “Ghost Stories.” He’s also producing ‘Sooryavanshi,’ starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif, and ‘Brahmastra,’ starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. With ‘Liger,’ which stars Ananya Panday as the leading lady, Karan Johar is also launching South talent Vijay Deverakonda in Bollywood.
