Twitter should be held liable for what users post: India’s government

As indicated by the documenting, Twitter has lost its security because of non-compliance with the country’s new information technology rules, which happened in May this year.

The archive was imparted to CNN by a source near the legitimate agents for the situation who isn’t approved to give out data.

India’s stringent new IT rules were delivered in February, and organizations were given three months to consent. The standards require any online media organization to make three parts in India: a “compliance official” who will guarantee it adheres to nearby laws; a “grievance official” who will address objections from Indian clients about it’s anything and a “contact individual” accessible to Indian law authorization every minute of every day. They all need to dwell in India.

As per the court recording, Twitter has neglected to fill any of these three jobs.

Twitter declined to remark on the court recording. The organization has recently signaled its reservations with the new social media rules, however it has additionally said it remains “profoundly dedicated” to India, which is among its biggest business sectors.
