Arjun Kapoor’s film Sardar Ka Grandson releases today, and the actor expresses his gratitude for finding films like Sardar Ka Grandson and Ki & Ka.
“I’ve been fortunate enough to obtain projects that have allowed me to dig into my amazing childhood memories and life experiences,” Arjun reveals. These are films that have touched to my soul and will constantly be my most favourite movie, whether it was a Ki & Ka for my mother or now Sardar Ka Grandson for my grandmothers.”
The actor expresses gratitude to his director, Kaashvie Nair, for creating a picture that immediately resonated with him and brought back memories from his boyhood. “I’m grateful that in Sardar Ka Grandson, I had the opportunity to be directed by Kaashvie Nair, my first female director, who was also directing her first feature film!” he says. Kaashvie, you have given me a film to keep and be proud of for the rest of my life. So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you.”
“You gave me substantial material that linked to me so profoundly and instantaneously because of the story’s uncanny similarities in numerous ways with my grandparents’ lives,” Arjun continues. Furthermore, the film’s Sardar character is strikingly similar to my Nani. When you engaged with her, she was a riot, and I could see her in Sardar every step of the way! I was really going through several phases, feelings, and recollections, some of which were mine and some of which were theirs.”
Arjun hopes that Sardar Ka Grandson provides a lot of entertainment for the audience. “So, for me, I’m delighted that via this film, I’ve lived a little bit of their life, and I hope that by my earnestness with this film, I’ve made all four of them proud,” he says.
