Apple, Different US Items From China Stated to Be Held Up at Indian Ports

It was not instantly clear which ports have been holding again the products.

Apple, Cisco, and Foxconn didn’t reply to requests for remark. A Dell spokeswoman declined to remark, whereas Ford mentioned a consignment of auto elements was held up at an Indian ports port in Chennai and the corporate was offering info sought by the authorities.

The delays come as India is restarting manufacturing facility operations after a nationwide lockdown to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Indian electronics and cellular business group ICEA mentioned its members had been advised Chennai, Mumbai and Delhi Airports would have a brand new examination process for all consignments coming from China.

Usually, items for normal importers are cleared routinely, ICEA mentioned in a letter to the finance ministry, urging it to intervene.
