The BAFTA Film Awards, scheduled for Sunday, unveils its presenter lineup.
Deepika Padukone, David Beckham, Cate Blanchett, and Dua Lipa confirmed as presenters for BAFTA Film Awards, as reported by Variety. Deepika expressed gratitude on her Instagram stories. Last year, she made headlines presenting an award at the Oscars. The BAFTA Film Awards will be held on Sunday at the Royal Festival Hall in London.
The presenters at the BAFTA Film Awards include Adjoa Andoh from Bridgerton, Hugh Grant, Lily Collins from Emily in Paris, Emma Corrin and Gillian Anderson from The Crown, Himesh Patel from Black Mirror, and Idris Elba. The categories they will hand out are yet to be confirmed.
Variety confirms former winners Emma Mackay and Jack O’Connell to present The Rising Star Award. Contenders this year include Phoebe Dynevor, Ayo Edebiri, Jacob Elordi, Mia McKenna-Bruce, and Sophie Wilde.
Hannah Waddingham to perform a special cover song, with Sophie Ellis Bextor singing ‘Murder on the Dancefloor,’ recently popularized again after two decades due to Saltburn. Expected celebrity attendees include Barry Keoghan, Bradley Cooper, Carey Mulligan, Cillian Murphy, Greta Gerwig, Christopher Nolan, Celine Song, and Yorgos Lanthimos.
In 2023, Deepika presented the Oscar to the RRR team for the song ‘Naatu Naatu,’ winning in the Best Original Song category. On stage, she announced the win, saying, ‘An irresistibly catchy chorus, electrifying beats, and killer dance moves to match have made this next song a global sensation.
It plays during a pivotal scene in RRR, a movie about the friendship between real-life Indian revolutionaries, Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem. Sung in Telugu, it illustrates the film’s anti-colonialist themes and has millions of views on YouTube and TikTok. Audiences worldwide are dancing in movie theaters, making it the first song from an Indian production to be nominated for an Oscar.
