Akshay Kumar’s movie OMG 2 to Undergo Modifications Despite ‘A’ Rating from CBFC Board

OMG 2 Faces Certification Issues with CBFC; Changes Made for ‘A’ Rating

Akshay Kumar’s upcoming movie, OMG 2, has been making headlines due to its certification issues. The film, a spiritual sequel to the 2012 hit movie with the same name, has sparked widespread discussions online surrounding its content and certification changes by the CBFC board. Initially aiming for a U/A rating, the makers decided to switch to an ‘A’ rating in response to the demand for cuts. The latest updates reveal the modifications made to the film under the ‘A’ rating. Read on to find out more about it.

OMG 2 to Undergo THESE Modifications under ‘A’ Rating

According to a report in Indian Express, certain modifications for OMG 2 have been revealed. The CBFC board has recommended the removal of scenes featuring frontal nudity, which should be replaced with suitable visuals of Naga Sadhus. Additionally, a dialogue discussing alcohol as an offering to God has also been asked to be modified. Furthermore, the makers have been instructed to remove the poster of a condom advertisement and make changes to scenes describing sculptures of unnatural sex.

In addition to the previously mentioned modifications, the movie OMG 2, directed by Amit Rai, has been requested to make some unusual changes. The makers have been asked to alter the usage of the word “rat” on the rat poison bottle. Furthermore, the scene featuring a judge taking selfies in the courtroom and references to places like Ujjain have also been asked to be modified. The film has impressed the CBFC but still requires cuts and an ‘A’ rating due to these mentioned reasons.

The movie OMG 2 has found itself embroiled in a controversy. The issues mainly revolve around the certification process by the CBFC, resulting in modifications and an ‘A’ rating. The controversy has been fueled by discussions surrounding the content of the film and the changes made to it. Fans and critics are closely following the developments and waiting to see how the situation unfolds.

The central theme of OMG 2 revolves around sex education, which has led to certification issues due to the sensitivity of the subject matter. Additionally, a priest from the Mahakaleshwar Temple, Mahesh Sharma, has demanded the removal of a scene shot in the temple after learning about the movie’s inclusion of adult content and its ‘A’ rating. He has threatened to launch a protest if his demand is not met.

Notably, OMG 2 marks Akshay Kumar’s first film in 12 years to receive an ‘A’ rating, and it is only the second movie in his career to do so since Desi Boyz. Alongside Akshay Kumar, the film also features Yami Gautam, Govind Namdev, and Arun Govil. OMG 2 is set to hit theaters on August 11, 2023.
