Nushrat Bharucha remarked in an interview with the Bombay Times that she was being typecast in Bollywood, but that she has recently managed to break free from the gorgeous image that had been associated with her. “When a story or character appeals to me, the actor in me doesn’t place it into a bucket of commercial or non-commercial,” the Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety actress added. It’s the desire to play a difficult character that attracts me to a film.” And luckily, she seems to have found the challenge in writer, producer Raaj Shaandilyaa’s next titled, Janhit Mein Jaari.
Nushrat will play the character of a condom sales person in this comedy venture. “Nushrat’s character hails from a little town,” the filmmaker explains, elaborating on the part. She is a progressive and well-educated woman. She is looking for work and gets one as a sales and promotions executive at a condom manufacturing company.”
“In the video, Nushrat jumps between selling condoms at medical stores and also running campaigns in different regions of the locality,” explains filmmaker Raaj Shaandilyaa. The film also explores the consequences of her career on her personal life, which is unusual for a woman.”
This is the filmmaker’s second collaboration with the actress. He had previously directed Dream Girl, in which she co-starred with Ayushmann Khurrana. “I had discussed the storey with Nushrat while we were filming Dream Girl in Mathura,” he says. She became enthralled after learning about the daring character. Toh Nushrat se mujhe yeh character karwana hi tha, because most directors wouldn’t fathom her playing such a role on screen.” Amyra Dastur and Ravi Kishan also have significant roles in the film.
Due to the pandemic, the film release date was extended from its original release date. i.e. 25th April. If the situation improves, the project might get underway in August. “We want to shoot in Chanderi and Bhopal,” Raaj Shaandilyaa says. Nushrat, for her part, will study the nuances of the native language.”
