On its eighth day at the box office, “Stree 2” has maintained its impressive momentum, earning an additional ₹18 crore on Thursday. This successful sequel, starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, is well on its way to joining the ₹500 crore club worldwide.
Directed by Amar Kaushik, “Stree 2” debuted on August 15, coinciding with Independence Day, and has seen substantial box office returns. On Friday, Maddock Films, the production company behind the movie, revealed updated figures on X (formerly known as Twitter). Their post highlighted the film’s total earnings, stating, “Stree Mania continues! ₹428 crore worldwide GBO. India GBO ₹363 crore, overseas GBO ₹64.5 crore. Total net collection in India: ₹308 crore. Days 1-7: ₹289.6 crore. Day 8 (Thursday): ₹18.2 crore.”
The post celebrated the film’s success with the caption: “Stree mania sweeps the nation, hitting yet another record! Thank you, everyone, for your immense and blockbuster love.”

“Stree 2” is the latest installment in producer Dinesh Vijan’s popular horror comedy franchise. The film picks up after the events of the 2018 hit “Stree,” with the ghost of a wronged courtesan returning to Chanderi. She joins forces with Vicky (Rajkummar Rao) and his friends to battle a new supernatural foe named Sarkata.
In addition to Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, the film features Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana, and Abhishek Banerjee in key roles, with special appearances by Akshay Kumar and Varun Dhawan.
