Apple CEO Tim Cook signed an agreement with Chinese officials, predicted to be worth about $275 billion (kind of Rs. 20,75,700 crore), to placate threats that might have hobbled its devices and services withinside the country, The Information reported. The five-year settlement was made whilst Cook made visits to China in 2016 to quash a bunch of regulatory action towards the corporation, the record said, mentioning interviews and internal Apple documents.

As a part of the settlement, Apple promised to use greater components from Chinese providers in its devices, sign deals with Chinese software firms, collaborate on technology with Chinese universities and without delay invest in Chinese tech companies, the Information record said.
