Actress Kangana Ranaut has petitioned the Bombay high court for her passport renewal, and lyricist Javed Akhtar has sought to intervene.

According to reports, Akhtar filed an intervention plea claiming that she should have disclosed a defamation charge he filed against her because a court had called her in that case.

Akhtar said in his plea that he was attempting to record some information for the court’s consideration. He mentioned this during a hearing on her request to renew her passport, which is set to expire in September.

In answer to his question, Kangana’s lawyer, Rizwan Siddiquee, stated that “no criminal cases are pending” against her in any court as a result of two FIRs that she had contested.

The statement was approved by the high court. Ranaut had petitioned the court, claiming that the regional passport office had inquired about two FIRs filed against her.

Meanwhile, Kangana Ranaut is overjoyed that her passport was reissued on June 30th after a hearing at the Bombay High Court.

Kangana shared a photo with filmmaker Razneesh on Instagram, as well as the news that she has obtained a new passport.

“Got my passport….,” she captioned the photo. Thank you, everybody, for your concern and well-wishes… Chief I’ll get back to you all as soon as possible, she wrote.

On the job front, Kangana is currently filming her forthcoming film ‘Dhaakad’ in Budapest.
