Amitabh Bachchan wrote a blog for those who asked why he didn’t participate in the COVID 19 fund-allocation process. The actor believes in giving rather than asking as mentioned by him in his blog.

In India, the second wave of COVID 19 has been devastating. To monitor the flood, some states, such as Maharashtra, have extended the lockdown until the end of May. Celebrities such as Bhumi Pednekar, Taapsee Pannu, Sonu Sood, Anushka Sharma, and Priyanka Chopra have been working tirelessly to support those in need through their huge social media footprints and funds. Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma recently raised a fund of 7 crores via social media, which was met on time, prompting the couple to lift the bar to 11 crores.

Amitabh Bachchan, who has never launched a fundraiser on social media like other celebrities, wrote a blog on Saturday describing how he is helping with the COVID 19 relief funds. “I have made no attempt to collect them through campaigns or contributions to a cause that I may have established…”I just feel like asking others for money is humiliating for me,” the actor wrote, describing how he donates on a regular basis without updating his supporters via a fundraiser. “I offer whereever I can… my resources are incredibly small… it may not seem that way, but they are.”

Amitabh Bachchan further said that he has been doing many public service advertisements through the years but he never directly asked for contributions. The superstar asked for forgiveness “If there have been such unseen or unknown incidents.” He continued, “But with all due respect and modesty, at times the sum that I have personally individually donated matches the funds raised out of the campaigns.”
