Vipin Reshammiya, father of Himesh Reshammiya, has passed away at the age of 87. He died on Wednesday night in Mumbai, after battling breathing issues and other age-related health complications. Vipin was receiving treatment at Kokilaben Dhirubai Ambani Hospital.
Vanita Thapar, a close family friend, confirmed his passing in an interview with The Times of India. She noted that Vipin succumbed to his health challenges around 8:30 PM and described her deep connection with the Reshammiya family, referring to Vipin as “papa” since his early days in television.
The last rites for Vipin Reshammiya are scheduled to take place on Thursday in Juhu.
Vipin was pivotal in launching Himesh’s career, notably introducing him to Bollywood star Salman Khan in the 1990s. This connection led to a fruitful collaboration, with Himesh contributing music to several iconic films, including Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya, Dulhan Hum Le Jayenge, Kahin Pyaar Na Ho Jaaye, and Tere Naam.
