Shahid Kapoor Reflects on Meeting Kareena Kapoor: ‘Heartwarming Moment as She Embraced Pregnancy

In an old interview, Shahid Kapoor shared an encounter where he bumped into his ex, Kareena Kapoor, at a red carpet event. Despite the apparent acknowledgment of each other’s presence, Kareena seemingly ignored Shahid.

The recent encounter between exes Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor at the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards 2024 has sparked conversation. Shahid Kapoor had previously described a “very nice” encounter with a pregnant Kareena at an event. This history of amicable encounters adds intrigue to their recent meeting at the awards ceremony.

Shahid Kapoor expressed his happiness for Kareena Kapoor during their encounter, revealing that they spoke about their respective children. Shahid shared that they discussed his daughter, Misha Kapoor, born in August 2016, and Kareena’s soon-to-be-born baby, Taimur Ali Khan, who arrived in December 2016.

Shahid described the interaction as “heartwarming,” particularly seeing Kareena fully pregnant while he had recently experienced fatherhood himself. He mentioned asking Kareena about her due date and sharing details about Misha. Overall, Shahid described the exchange as very nice and filled with mutual warmth and happiness.

Following their breakup, Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor have never shared screen space. Despite both featuring in the 2016 film Udta Punjab, they did not have any scenes together and did not need to shoot together even once. This separation on-screen reflects their personal relationship status and suggests a professional understanding to avoid potential discomfort or awkwardness on set.

Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor were in a relationship for several years before parting ways in 2007. Their relationship garnered significant attention, particularly in 2004 when images of them kissing were leaked, making headlines. Despite their breakup, they had collaborated on several films together, including Fida, Chup Chup Ke, 36 China Town, Milenge Milenge, and the immensely popular Jab We Met (2007).

Kareena Kapoor married Saif Ali Khan in October 2012. Together, they welcomed their elder son Taimur Ali Khan in 2016 and their younger son Jehangir Ali Khan (Jeh) in February 2021.

Shahid Kapoor tied the knot with Mira Rajput in July 2015. The couple became parents to daughter Misha Kapoor in 2016 and son Zain Kapoor in September 2018.

In a video from the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards 2024 red carpet, Shahid Kapoor was seen standing with filmmakers Krishna DK and Raj Nidimoru. While posing for paparazzi, Shahid and the filmmakers shared laughs. As Kareena Kapoor, Shahid’s ex-girlfriend, walked past them, she smiled and shook hands only with Raj. Shahid, standing next to Raj, smiled and looked at her as she passed by. After Kareena moved away and posed solo on the red carpet, Shahid continued to smile.
