The Noida-based company, along with its peers TCS and Wipro, has encouraged its employees to resume reporting to the office. TCS has set a deadline until the end of March for its employees to return to the workplace.
HCLTech employees have reportedly received instructions to work from the office three times a week, beginning from February 19th. This directive signifies the company’s initiative to transition towards a hybrid work model, combining in-person and remote work arrangements.
In a mail dated February 14th, Vikas Sharma, Global Head of People Function DFS (Digital Foundation Services) at HCLTech, reportedly instructed all employees, regardless of their band, to adhere to the directive of working from the office three times a week.
The missive further stated that non-compliance with the directive would be considered as unauthorized absence and would result in disciplinary action in accordance with the company’s policy.
Additionally, it was noted that the Noida-based company’s peers, TCS and Wipro, have similarly encouraged their staff to return to the office. TCS has set a deadline for its employees to return to work by the end of March.
NG Subramaniam, the Chief Operating Officer of the company, warned that failure to comply with this ultimatum would result in consequences. He emphasized two primary concerns: work culture and security. Subramaniam expressed that remote work increased the risk of cyberattacks for both employees and employers.
