“Ankita Lokhande announces her first project post-Bigg Boss 17, starring in the upcoming film ‘Swatantrya Veer Savarkar.’ The official announcement was made on Tuesday via her Instagram, marking her return to the screen after her Bigg Boss 17 journey.

Ankita Lokhande shares a teaser clip of her upcoming film ‘Swatantrya Veer Savarkar’ and expresses her gratitude to be a part of the project. She mentions the special significance of starting this new chapter right after Bigg Boss 17. The film, co-starring Randeep Hooda and produced by Anand Pandit and Zee Studios, is set to release on March 22, 2024, in theaters.

Randeep Hooda Announces ‘Swatantrya Veer Savarkar’ Release Date: March 22.

Swatantrya Veer Savarkar is a biopic directed and co-written by Randeep Hooda with Utkarsh Naithani. Centered on the life of freedom fighter Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, popularly known as Veer Savarkar, the film promises to bring to life his compelling and often neglected story. Described as a journey into the visionary and firebrand persona of Swatantrya Veer Savarkar, the biopic aims to shed light on the legendary figure’s impactful legacy.

Backed by Zee Studios, Anand Pandit, Randeep Hooda, Sandeep Singh, and Yogesh Rahar, the film ‘Swatantrya Veer Savarkar’ features a cast including Randeep Hooda, Ankita Lokhande, and Amit Sial.

Born on May 28, 1883, in Bhagur near Nashik, Maharashtra, Vinayak Damodar Savarkar hailed from a Marathi Chitpavan Brahmin Hindu family. His parents were Damodar and Radhabai Savarkar.

Vinayak Damodar Savarkar was a multifaceted figure, contributing as a freedom fighter, activist, and writer. Leading the Hindu Mahasabha, he actively participated in the freedom movement from his high school days and continued his engagement while studying at Fergusson College in Pune. During his law studies in the UK, Savarkar was associated with groups like India House and the Free India Society. His notable contributions include coining the term ‘Hindutva.

Veer Savarkar, alongside figures like Bhagat Singh, Subhash Chandra Bose, Khudiram Bose, and Madanlal Dhingra, served as an inspirational freedom fighter against the British. However, producer Sandeep Singh emphasizes that Savarkar has been misunderstood by many over the years. The film, according to Singh, aims to unveil the truth about Savarkar and his efforts, shedding light on aspects often overlooked in history.
