Richa Chadha Shares Frustration Over Indigo Flight Delays, Condemns Assault on Pilot
Richa Chadha Blames Lack of Accountability for Recent Flight Delays
In the midst of widespread flight delays across the country, various actors including Radhika Apte and Sonu Sood have voiced their grievances about the ordeal. Joining the chorus, Richa Chadha also shared her recent travel experiences, revealing that she encountered significant delays in her flights.
On Wednesday, the actor took to X (platform not specified), detailing her three-day journey that involved taking three flights. Chadha specifically highlighted that both of her domestic flights with Indigo were delayed by four hours each.
In a tweet addressing the flight delays, Richa Chadha acknowledged external factors such as fog in Delhi and the recent air show in Mumbai that might have contributed to the challenges faced by Indigo. However, she also pointed fingers at the ‘lack of accountability’ within the airline, attributing the chaos to organizational shortcomings.
Richa Chadha began her account of the flight delays by sharing her recent travel experiences. In a series of tweets, she wrote, “On my 3rd flight in 3 days… day 1, @IndiGo6E delayed by over 4 hours. Day 2, @IndiGo6E delayed by 4 hours. But the only direct flights on some routes are often Indigo. Day 3, international flight, no problem.”
Chadha then explained the possible external factors contributing to the flight delays. She mentioned that on January 14th, there was an air show in Mumbai, leading to the closure of the runway in the morning.
Additionally, she pointed out the impact of fog/smog in North India, which resulted in the closure of the Delhi runway. Chadha suggested a ripple effect of these events, causing delays in flights across the country and stretching airline staff thin.
Richa Chadha expressed concern over the recent incident of a passenger physically assaulting an Indigo pilot. In her response, she wrote, “I am surprised only one person got physically assaulted because tempers were running very high (I don’t condone violence).”
Chadha then emphasized the broader issue of accountability within the aviation industry, linking it to the concept of monopoly. She highlighted that when there is a lack of competition, whether in airlines, airport ownership, or leadership, it can result in inadequate accountability.
Chadha pointed out that such a lack of accountability ultimately affects common citizens, leaving them with no effective recourse.
She stressed the need for recognition of these issues and warned that without addressing them, passengers may continue to face challenges while paying high prices for services. The concluding remark, “And if we don’t wake up, we deserve it haina (right)?,”
Richa Chadha’s tweet addressing flight delays comes in the wake of similar complaints from fellow actors Radhika Apte and Sonu Sood.
