Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor Open Up About Their Father’s Acting Aspirations on the Latest Episode of Koffee With Karan

Boney Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, and Other Cast Members Shine in a Scene from ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’.

Boney Kapoor’s immediate family have ventured into acting. His son, Arjun Kapoor, and daughters, Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor, are actively involved in the film industry as actors.

Additionally, Boney Kapoor, who is primarily known as a film producer, has made appearances in films s

upset feelings about not being included in the trailer for “Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar.” This suggests a desire or expectation on his part to be part of the promotional material for the film, and his absence from the trailer left him dissatisfied.

“Koffee With Karan,” where Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor, along with host Karan Johar, discussed their father Boney Kapoor’s aspirations for acting. Karan Johar brought up the topic by mentioning Boney Kapoor’s feelings about not being included in the trailer for a film.

Janhvi Kapoor responded by affirming that her father was indeed upset about the situation. She quoted him saying, “Wahi toh selling point hai tumhari film ki, mujhe hi nikaal dia” (I was the selling point of the movie, and they removed me).

This suggests that Boney Kapoor believed his presence in the film could have been a significant promotional aspect, and his absence from the trailer disappointed him. The statement adds a touch of humor by using the term “selling point” to describe Boney Kapoor’s perceived importance in the film.

Boney Kapoor played the role of Ranbir Kapoor’s father in “Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar” (TJMM). In an interview from August of the previous year, he addressed the limited number of dialogues or scenes he had in the film.

Boney Kapoor humorously suggested that one should inquire with the director, Luv Ranjan, about the scarcity of his character’s involvement. He playfully suggested, “Write a letter to Luv Ranjan and ask, ‘Aapne itne achhe artiste ko waste kaise kar diya?’” (“Ask, ‘How did you waste such a good artist?'”). Despite the limited role, he expressed that he enjoyed working on the film, describing it as a good and happy experience with the unit.

In response to Karan’s inquiry about their feelings regarding their father’s acting debut, Khushi Kapoor shared an anecdote. She mentioned that she had visited her father, Boney Kapoor, on the sets of “AK vs AK.” During her visit, she noticed an interesting detail – there were 13 suitcases filled with items from his own wardrobe.

Khushi felt that, with his collection of posh tracksuits, he seemed quite comfortable playing himself in the movie. This provides a glimpse into the behind-the-scenes atmosphere and adds a touch of humor to Boney Kapoor’s role in the film.

The sisters, Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor, discussed their father Boney Kapoor’s unique habits, highlighting his love for clicking his own pictures. They revealed that he not only shares these self-portraits with the family group chat but extends this practice to his friends in the film industry as well.

This sheds light on Boney Kapoor’s playful and engaging interactions within the family and the broader film community, showcasing a lighter side to his personality beyond his professional endeavors. The title “Boney Matters” suggests the importance or significance of these personal aspects of Boney Kapoor’s life.

The conversation between Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor delves into their relationship with their father, Boney Kapoor. According to their discussion, Khushi has always been regarded as his favorite.

The sisters recalled instances where Boney Kapoor would take breaks from film shoots specifically to spend time with Khushi, finding it rejuvenating. Even though Janhvi sought attention during those times, Khushi held a special place in their father’s heart.

Janhvi, Arjun, and Anshula, acknowledging the dynamic, have come to terms with the fact that Khushi is their father’s favorite and will continue to be so. The mention of Boney Kapoor crying for three days straight when Janhvi landed her debut movie, “The Archies” with Zoya Akhtar, adds a poignant touch to their family dynamics. Janhvi played the role of Betty Cooper in the Hindi language film adaptation of the comics for Netflix. This insight provides a glimpse into the emotional connection and support within the Kapoor family.
