Virat Kohli rejoining the Indian cricket team in South Africa and being ready for the first Test match on December 26 in Centurion is significant for cricket enthusiasts.

The details provided, including Kohli’s pre-planned absence for a trip to London and his non-participation in intra-squad practice matches, add context to his return.

Fans and followers of cricket will likely be interested in these updates as they look forward to Kohli’s performance in the upcoming matches.

The statement from the senior BCCI official emphasizes that Virat Kohli’s absence from certain games was pre-planned and well-communicated to the team management. The official highlights that Kohli, being a meticulous and well-organized player, had a scheduled trip to London, and this absence was not due to any sudden or emergency situation. This information helps clarify that Kohli’s actions were part of a pre-arranged plan and were known to the team management ahead of time.

It’s good to know that Virat Kohli had multiple training sessions with the team before departing for London on December 19. This indicates that he was actively involved in preparation before his planned absence. The information also mentions that he will resume practice upon rejoining the team in Centurion.

Virat Kohli left India for South Africa on December 15 and had several training sessions before departing to London on December 19. The update also mentions that he has now rejoined the Test squad in Centurion and is expected to resume training there.

This information gives a clearer picture of Kohli’s schedule, training routine, and the timeline of his activities leading up to his involvement with the team in South Africa. Fans will likely be eager to see him back in action on the field.

South Africa head coach Shukri Conrad’s perspective. It appears that Conrad is expressing confidence in his team’s ability to defend their home ground, often referred to as the ‘Final Frontier’ for visiting teams.

Despite India’s formidable lineup and the return of frontline pacers Kagiso Rabada and Lungi Ngidi, Conrad seems optimistic about South Africa’s chances in the upcoming ‘Boxing Day’ Test.

Kagiso Rabada was rested from the white-ball leg due to a heel niggle, while Lungi Ngidi withdrew from the T20Is after sustaining a left ankle injury.

On Saturday afternoon, Kagiso Rabada and Lungi Ngidi were actively bowling at full capacity on the center training wicket at Supersport Park. Dean Elgar, who is playing his last series, was among those facing them in the practice session.

The Centurion track is known to be a pacer’s dream, even though India had success there in the last encounter with South Africa. The head coach will likely be eager for his fast bowlers to perform at their best and be the team’s lethal weapons in the upcoming match.

“Fresh and firing—always a firm believer in freshness,” said Conrad ahead of the team’s training session.

Coach isn’t overly concerned despite both players entering the game without match time.

“It would have been ideal if they had some mileage in the legs playing First-Class matches, but that’s life. You have to find a way. I’m not bothered that they will be undercooked for the game,” said the coach.

“KG (Rabada) and Lungi are still in the 15-member squad and available for selection. We will make that decision tomorrow. Hopefully, tomorrow morning we will have a full squad of 15 to select from,” emphasized the coach, highlighting the pending decision on their inclusion.
