“Bollywood Hungama, a leading news source, has been closely covering the progress of the censor process for OMG Oh My God 2. On July 13, we were among the first to report that the Central Board of Film Certification’s (CBFC) Examining Committee (EC) referred the movie starring Akshay Kumar to the Revising Committee (RC) due to its content.

We also shared updates on the film’s team’s efforts to secure clearance for both the film and trailer by this week or at the latest, Monday, July 31, aiming for a theatrical release on August 11.”

“The filmmakers are facing discomfort with the Revising Committee’s recommendations, which entail numerous modifications to the film. The RC has proposed a total of 20 cuts, encompassing both visual and audio content. Additionally, they have advised the makers to consider obtaining an adults-only certification.”

According to the source, the filmmakers are expressing discomfort with the suggested cuts, as they fear it would compromise the film’s essence. They are also opposed to obtaining an ‘A’ certificate.

Their stance stems from the belief that the topic of sex education should be accessible to audiences of all ages. Additionally, considering the popularity of the first part, OMG Oh My God (2012), among kids, they find it inappropriate to assign an adult certificate to a movie in a franchise known for its kid-friendly content, as per their opinion.

The source concluded by mentioning that there is currently a deadlock between the two parties. It remains uncertain whether they will be able to reach a consensus and do so promptly, allowing OMG Oh My God 2 to release as scheduled on August 11 in a smooth manner.

In addition to Akshay Kumar, the cast of OMG Oh My God 2 includes Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam.
