Alia Bhatt’s Desire for Work-Family Balance: “Now, I Have a Daughter”

However, amidst her busy schedule, the actress, who has recently become a mother, took some time to reflect on her shifting priorities after spending over a decade in the film industry. In an interview with Femina, Alia Bhatt emphasized the significance of spending quality time with her family.

Alia Bhatt shared with Femina, “As I complete a decade in the film industry, my life has undergone significant changes during this time.

There was a period when I was willing to make various sacrifices – sacrificing sleep and time with my family – just to continuously work and shoot. But now, I have a family. I have a daughter. I have a husband.

Looking back at these past 10 years, I feel like I missed out on spending time with my parents, my sister, and my friends – and I want to be able to do that.”

“And, of course, never give up on work, but strive to achieve a sense of equilibrium. So, yes, that is a conscious decision I have made, which involves being fully present.

I feel that often, even when we’re not working, we’re constantly on our phones, engaging in discussions and sorting things out, you know, doing random things.

So, to maintain balance, I also find it helpful to refrain from looking at my phone when I have nothing to do. I make an effort to do so. Sometimes I fail miserably, sometimes I succeed,” continued the 30-year-old actress.

When asked about maintaining a balance between her family, motherhood, and work, Alia Bhatt responded simply, stating, “The notion of ‘greatness’ is vastly overrated.

It’s important to be competent enough and honest. Additionally, keeping communication channels wide open is crucial. That’s what I strive to do – maintaining open communication with my friends, family, and myself.

However, there are times when I feel like I’ve taken on too much, but I also find that I flourish when entrusted with responsibilities.”
