Hugo Dos Santos Aveiro, the older brother of soccer sensation Cristiano Ronaldo, has been officially accused of fraud by the Italian Public Prosecutor’s Office in a case involving alleged counterfeit Juventus jerseys. This accusation stems from the sale of T-shirts featuring Ronaldo’s image and signature, which were reportedly sold without the necessary permissions and licenses.
The investigation into this matter began in 2019 and aimed to determine if there was fraud against the company ‘Pegasso,’ with which Cristiano Ronaldo had an agreement for online sales of sports clothing, specifically Juventus shirts.
In the realm of football, Ronaldo recently made a move to the Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr, signing a 2-and-a-half-year contract after departing Manchester United. His departure from Old Trafford followed an explosive television interview where the 37-year-old forward expressed feeling betrayed by the club and lacking respect for their Dutch manager, Erik ten Hag.
Al Nassr confirmed the signing of the five-time Ballon d’Or winner until 2025 in a statement, but the financial details of the contract were not disclosed. Media estimates suggest Ronaldo’s contract is valued at over 200 million euros ($214.04 million).
It’s worth noting that Cristiano Ronaldo achieved an illustrious collection of club honors during his successful stint at the Spanish giants Real Madrid from 2009 to 2018. His accomplishments include two LaLiga titles, two Spanish Cups, four Champions League titles, and three Club World Cups.
