Director Sudipto Sen’s The Kerala Story has been witnessing a rise in terms of collections ever since it hit the theaters last week. On Sunday, May 7, the film collected twice the amount of its first day. However, the screening of the film was canceled in several theaters in Tamil Nadu and several other states. The Kerala Story was declared tax free in Madhya Pradesh.
On its opening day, the film managed to earn Rs 8.03 crore (net) in India. However, the film is estimated to have collected Rs 16.50 crore at the domestic box office on Sunday, 7 May. This is double the first day’s earnings. The total collection of Kerala Story now stands at Rs 35.75 Cr in India.
