Sequel to Akshay Kumar’s Rowdy Rathore in works

In the 2012 movie Rowdy Rathore, Akshay Kumar performed double roles- a fearless no-nonsense police officer and a small-time thief. The movie which additionally starred Sonakshi Sinha and was directed by Prabhu Dheva become a huge hit at the box office.

Now, after 9 years of the launch of the movie, the makers are making plans to group for the sequel of the action drama. Writer KV Vijayendra Prasad has shown that he’s working on the script of the movie.

For the unversed, KV Vijayendra Prasad, father of SS Rajamouli is likewise the author of acclaimed movies just like the Baahbuali franchise and Bajrangi Bhaijaan.

Talking to a tabloid, Vijayendra Prasad stated that he was approached by producer Sanjay Leela Bhansali for writing the script of Rowdy Rathore 2 and he’s presently working on the same. He hopes to finish the script soon. Rowdy Rathore was the remake of the Telugu movie Vikramarkudu which was penned by Prasad.

Reportedly, the sequel will only be made in the Hindi language. Sonakshi Sinha is predicted to reprise her role of Paro in the movie with Akshay returning as Shiva. The movie will move on the flooring by the end of 2022.
