James Michael Tyler, an actor best known for his portrayal of Gunther on Friends, has died at the age of 59. The actor was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer.
Tyler shared his story earlier this year. He leaves behind his wife Jennifer Carno. The manager confirmed the news that celebrities are paying tribute to the “Friends” star on their social networks.
Kareena Kapoor Khan posted a photo from the popular sitcom with a heartbroken emoticon. Anushka Sharma and Samantha Ruth Prabhu also took to social media when their co-star Jennifer Aniston shared a video of the show, writing, “Friends wouldn’t have been the same without you. Thank you so much for the laughs that got you on the show and all of our lives. missed #JamesMichaelTyler 💔.
”Lisa Kudrow posted a photo of the late actor from the sets. The entry read: “James Michael Tyler, we will miss you. Thank you for being there for all of us. # Jamesmichealtyler.
“Courteney Cox also shared a picture. Tyler. ” The gratitude you have brought into the room and shown on set every day is as great as the gratitude I have for meeting you. Rest in peace James ♥ ️, ”he wrote.
He is known for his appearances on series such as “Sabrina the Teenage Witch”, “Scrubs” and “Modern Music”. Tyler also appeared in the special “Friends: The Reunion” via video conference earlier this year.
