The Delhi High Court has recommended that both parties make an effort to resolve their dispute in the legal matter between late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s father KK Singh and the makers of a film allegedly based on the deceased Bollywood actor’s life.

‘Talk to each other and see if it can be sorted out,’ Justice Talwant Singh remarked during a hearing on KK Singh’s appeal of a single-judge judgment that refused to stop the film’s distribution. ‘Independent of the processes, we will strive to resolve,’ said senior lawyer Jayant Mehta, who represents Singh.

The senior lawyer representing the film director agreed with the notion and stated that there was “no attempt to take advantage.” The case, however, did not appear to be ‘one of those cases where settlement is likely,’ according to Justice Rajiv Shakdher, who presided over the two-judge panel. The makers were given a week to answer to KK Singh’s appeal for a stay on the film’s future distribution or publication after the court gave notice.
