India’s largest automaker, Maruti Suzuki India (MSI), announced Monday that total production increased by 1,65,576 ways by easing COVID-related restrictions in several states last month. The company produced a total of 40,924 units in May this year, MSI (Maruti Suzuki India) said through regulatory documents. The
MSI was discontinued from May 1st to May 16th to avoid industrial use of oxygen for medical purposes. Production of miniature cars consisting of Alto and SPresso models reached 26,316 last month and 4,896 in May. MSI said the production of compact cars made up of WagonR, Celerio, Ignis, Swift, Baleno and Dzire increased by 89,966 last month compared to 25,130 in May 2021. Likewise, production of utility vehicles (Gypsy, Erutiga, SCross Beater Love Let’s Love Hawk XL6) increased from 9,106 in May to 35,917 in June. According to
MSI, production of the Super Carry of small commercial vehicles was 2,539 units last month versus 296 units in May 2021.
