British Regulators are examining whether Amazon and Google have violated customer protection law by not doing what’s necessary to shield customers from fake product review.

The investigation is the most recent in a series of examinations stacking toward tech giants all throughout the world, as authorities and policymakers investigate cases of anti-competitive conduct. The examinations could bring about heavy fines and tension on organizations including Facebook (FB) and Apple (AAPL) to change the manner in which they work together.

The UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) said Friday that its formal inquiry, which expands on a preliminary investigation dispatched last May, could compel Amazon (AMZN) and Google (GOOGL) to change the manner in which they manage fake reviews or result in court activity.

On Tuesday, the European Union dispatched an antitrust examination concerning Google’s huge advertising business only weeks after it’s anything but a similar investigation into whether Facebook’s utilization of information gives it an unreasonable benefit in online advertising.

The CMA has dispatched a different probe concerning Facebook taking a gander at a similar issue and last week said it is researching Apple and Google’s dominance in mobile operating systems, application stores and web browsers.

Additionally this week, a House of Representatives board pushed ahead clearing charges intended to get control over firms like Google and Facebook.
