The tussle among Twitter and the Indian government just heightened to a higher level.

India’s technology minister, Ravi Shankar Prasad, said on Friday that he was denied access to his Twitter account for nearly 60 minutes.

Twitter (TWTR) affirmed that it had briefly limited admittance to Prasad’s account and retained one of his tweets.

As per Twitter’s site, the organization may react to valid copyright infringement by locking accounts if multiple grievances are gotten.

Pressures between Silicon Valley organization and the Indian government are as of now running high over exacting new rules which tech organizations dread will dissolve privacy, usher in mass surveillance and mischief business on the globe’s fastest developing business sector. India says these guidelines will help keep up public safety.

He additionally posted a similar explanation on Koo, an Indian opponent to Twitter that is promoted by Modi and utilized energetically by a few authorities and services in his administration.

Twitter at last conformed to certain solicitations yet would not make a move against accounts of writers, activists or lawmakers.

Twitter has said it has worries about “core components of the new IT Rules,” and the “expected threat to the right to speak freely” in the country. Prasad, then again, has blamed the organization for taking the “way of intentional defiance.”
