Farhan Akhtar, an actor known for his superb acting skills and unique characters, has dazzled audiences on several occasions. When it comes to his films, he is most known for his portrayal as athlete Milkha Singh in the hit sports drama ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag.’
“When ‘Bhaag Mikha Bhaag’ was out, no matter where I went — Australia, England, or Canada — people all over the world used to say Farhan is Milkha Singh’s ditto copy,” the Padma-Shri awardee Milkha Singh said once. During the filming of the movie, I even went to see Farhan train and saw him run 100 metres in 11 seconds! He wasn’t a professional athlete when he started, but he worked hard to be one.”
While expressing his desire to see further collaboration between Akhtar and filmmaker Rakesh Omprakash Mehra, Milkha added that “Bhaag Milkha Bhaag” was the first film he had seen since the 1960s.
In the mean time, Farhan will be featured in a similar and extreme transformation for his impending sports drama, directed by Rakesh Omprakash Mehra. Farhan will play a boxer this time, and the film will also include Mrunal Thakur, Paresh Rawal, Supriya Pathak Kapur, and Hussain Dalal in crucial parts.
While Farhan’s passion for sports is well-known, he previously made headlines for assisting a National level boxer and NIS-certified coach who was trying to make ends meet owing to COVID to resume coaching young boxing hopefuls.
He has also offered assistance to several families and carers in Uttar Pradesh who have been affected by the country’s second phase of the devastating illness., Covid-19. His funds are being used to serve vulnerable patients and carers thanks to a collaboration with an NGO.
