OMG 2’s pre-production work has already begun, and the picture will be shot over a two-month period later this year. This would be Akshay’s second collaboration with Pankaj.
As previously reported, a sequel to Akshay Kumar’s Oh My God is in the works, with the producers hoping to start shooting in Summer 2021. However, due to the covid-19-infused lockdown that began in April, this did not happen. We also learned that the crew brainstormed several ideas before settling on the one that will be used in the show, as building a franchise around something as beloved as Oh My God is a significant responsibility. Everything is now locked , and things are moving swiftly.
While Paresh Rawal starred in the first part of the film, directed by Umesh Shukla, with Akshay Kumar playing the deity, we have exclusively learned that Paresh will not be appearing in OMG 2. Pankaj Tripathi will play the major role in “Oh My God 2,” with Akshay Kumar, who reprises his role from the first part.
The film will begin shooting in September and will have a two-month timetable. “The pre-production work began with an isolated team exploring potential shot locations and agreeing on how to design the sets in the city. By the end of October, the film will be completed in one shot,” the source claimed. This would be Akshay’s second time working with Pankaj Tripathi, as the two recently collaborated on Sajid Nadiadwala’s Bachchan Pandey, directed by Farhad Samji. According to the insider, the two connected extremely well on set, and their friendship in the gangster comedic thriller reflects this as well.
Umesh Shukla will not be directing the sequel to OMG. The director’s identity is being kept hidden while he is locked up. OMG 2 will be produced by Ashwin Varde and Akshay Kumar, as previously reported . Before going on to Oh My God 2, Akshay will finish filming for Raksha Bandhan, directed by Anand L Rai, a big portion of Ram Setu, directed by Abhishek Sharma, and another film.
