Many major names from Bollywood, like Saif Ali Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Sushmita Sen, and others, have dabbled in the digital platform and impressed audiences with their work. As the country battles the COVID-19 pandemic, many filmmakers are opting for a direct-to-digital release for their films, some of which star big names. To put it another way, OTT is the new hip!

Actress Disha Patani, who has yet to venture into the digital space, was recently given a taste of it when her latest album, Salman Khan’s Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai, was released as a pay-per-view on streaming platforms. Disha said in an interview with Etimes that she was looking forward to a big release for her film. She is, however, thankful that her film was able to be released despite the country’s current COVID-19 situation.

The Malang actress said, “I was anticipating a grand release of Radhe, similar to what we used to have on regular days. After all the hard work that went into making the film, the elaborate promotions and a festive release are something to look forward to. However, in these difficult times, it’s wonderful that your film has been released at all.”

Disha continued, “The digital medium has been a savior in these tough times.” “Things are a little hazy today. Time has slowed to a halt, and no one knows what will happen next. OTT has come to the rescue in this situation. This medium keeps the entertainment industry afloat by providing jobs.”
