Veteran actor Annu Kapoor, who is known for expressing his opinions on social media, recently spoke out against celebrities who were seen flaunting their holiday photos as the country battles the coronavirus. He said in a recent interview with an entertainment site that he doesn’t mind if they go on vacation, but they shouldn’t brag about it on social media.

In a recent interview, the actor compared their holiday photos to eating a luxurious meal in front of hungry people. He went on to say that he knows they are wealthy and can afford it, and that they have a beautiful body. He said that flaunting one’s wealth does not look good. He also chastised those who obsess about celebrities’ holiday photos on social media.

A few month back, Annu Kapoor tweeted “I humbly appeal to rich and famous from all walks of life and the media not to post their pictures vacationing in exotic locations when the majority of the world suffers from pandemic,” . Why should you attract the curse of the oppressed by making them jealous?

“I know poets are perfect people in this world, and you proved me right with your request to rich and celebrity,” one fan wrote in response to Annu Kapoor’s Tweet. “Congratulations, sir. At the very least, someone is rational enough to comprehend the people’s feelings in this pandemic situation…people are depressed and dying.

Celebrities such as Shruti Seth and Nawazuddin Siddiqui have previously chastised celebrities for sharing pictures from the Maldives at a time when India is grappling with the Covid-19 pandemic.

India is currently dealing with a massive second wave of the deadly coronavirus. Many people are having difficulty in obtaining basic medical services such as hospital beds, oxygen, plasma, and necessary medications. Several actors and well-known celebrities are regularly posting updates and support on their social media feeds in response to the plight of coronavirus victims.
