Veteran actor Annu Kapoor, who is known for expressing his opinions on social media, recently spoke out against celebrities who were seen flaunting their holiday photos as the country battles the coronavirus. He also chastised those who obsess about celebrities’ holiday photos on social media.

A few month back, Annu Kapoor tweeted “I humbly appeal to rich and famous from all walks of life and the media not to post their pictures vacationing in exotic locations when the majority of the world suffers from pandemic,” . Why should you attract the curse of the oppressed by making them jealous?

“I know poets are perfect people in this world, and you proved me right with your request to rich and celebrity,” one fan wrote in response to Annu Kapoor’s Tweet. “Congratulations, sir. At the very least, someone is rational enough to comprehend the people’s feelings in this pandemic situation…people are depressed and dying.

Celebrities such as Shruti Seth and Nawazuddin Siddiqui have previously chastised celebrities for sharing pictures from the Maldives at a time when India is grappling with the Covid-19 pandemic.
