While the majority of 2020 was spent in lockdown, everyone was looking forward to 2021, especially the film industry and its fans. However, due to rise in Covid 19 cases, most Indian states were compelled to announce another lockdown, delaying a number of scheduled movie premieres. While Salman Khan’s Radhe was released on an OTT platform, Sooryavanshi, starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif, and a few more films were apparently rescheduled. We now have an exclusive update on Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra, another highly anticipated film.
A number of films were scheduled to be released this year,” a source close to the situation says, “but everything has altered due of Covid 19’s second wave.” The release date for Brahmastra has been moved back to Summer 2022. Ayan expects to start filming the remaining segments in October or November, depending on the situation. Meanwhile, work on the segments that have already been shot is well underway in post-production.” Brahmastra features Alia Bhattand Ranbir Kapoor, and also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna Akkineni, Mouni Roy and Dimple Kapadia in key roles.
Nagarjuna finished filming for his parts in Brahmastra in February of this year. “Thank you, Sir, for the memories… It’s an honour to collaborate with you… With the end of production approaching, I can’t help but reflect on how far the film has come.. & the anticipation of what lies next is another adventure ALL TOGETHER,” Alia wrote on Instagram.
