Larsen & Toubro is on the brink of bagging its largest order ever because it has emerged rock bottom bidder to construct a big a part of the Ahmedabad-Mumbai bullet project, beating two others within the race with a bid of Rs 24,958 crore.
On Monday, the National High Speed Rail Corporation (NHRCL) opened the financial bids for the tender to style and construct the 237 km-mainline, of the 508 km long Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail corridor. L&T beat two consortia– Tata Projects – J Kumar Infraprojects – NCC, and Afcons Infrastructure – Ircon International NSE 1.62 % – JMC Projects India.
NHRCL confirmed that L&T has emerged rock bottom bidder from among the three financial bids received. “The technical bids for this tender were opened on 23rd September 2020 and in but one month the financial bids have also been opened, after rigorous evaluation of technical bids,” the state run corporation said.
