“WhatsApp protects your messages with end-to-end encryption in order that only you and therefore the person you’re communicating with can read what’s sent, and no-one in between can access it, not even WhatsApp,” a WhatsApp spokesperson said.
The spokesperson also said that folks check in on their using only a telephone number which the Facebook-owned company doesn’t have access to the message content.
“WhatsApp follows guidance provided by OS manufacturers for on-device storage and that we encourage people to require advantage of all the safety features provided by operating systems like strong passwords or biometric IDs to stop third parties from accessing content stored on the device,” the spokesperson said.
