Verified Calls may be a feature of the Phone app on Android, which is usually pre-loaded on most phones, but also will be available for download later in the week , just in case your phone manufacturer chose to travel with a custom dialler. once you get a call from a verified business, you’ll see the name, a verification symbol (a white tick on a blue shield), and therefore the reason for calling.
Google added in its blogpost that this is often displayed during a secure manner, which Google doesn’t store or collect any personally identifiable information after verification. This feature brings Google into competition with Truecaller, whose immense popularity in India is a minimum of partly because it’s so helpful for avoiding scam calls.
Verified Calls goes one step beyond Truecaller though, by also showing you the rationale for the decision — that’s very helpful because a call from your ISP a few complaint are some things you’ll be wanting to answer, but you’ll prefer to ignore a call about new plans.
Google has been piloting Verified involves a couple of months now, and its results show that folks are more likely to answer calls with this feature enabled, which also means businesses will need to face fewer ignored calls. this could provide businesses with an incentive to form use of the feature.
“For instance, banks calling to alert a customer a few possible fraudulent transaction can increase answer rates by stating the decision reason. A food delivery or logistics company can do an equivalent to form sure customers are available to receive their deliveries,” Google noted in its post.
